Contest Rules

  • Judges seek photos highlighting swine health and safety practices. This includes wearing clean boots and gloves when caring for pigs, showing handwashing stations near containment areas, depicting secure enclosures protecting pigs from wild hogs and other animals. Here’s some potential inspiration when it comes to best practices in biosecurity.
  • Open to all ages 18 or over or those with proof of a legal guardian’s consent to enter the contest.
  • Submissions must be unaltered, except for basic adjustments to sharpness and color. Do not use filters.
  • Files that do not meet these requirements will not be considered.
  • Each participant may enter up to two photographs in total.
  • Upon entering the contest, participants automatically certify that subjects were treated with respect and dignity, and that no people, wildlife, or the environment were harmed or otherwise unethically treated in the capturing of a photograph.
  • Contest submission closes at midnight, Eastern time, on February 14.
  • Winners will be selected by a USDA judging panel and chosen at the discretion of the judges.
